
WHS is hosting the UHSAA State Play-In for BBB on Saturday, February 22, at 1 pm. All UHSAA State Tournament rules apply (no livestream; no noise makers). Please support the Wrestling Concession (since there is no admission).


We welcome Utah Shakespeare Festival (USF) to our school today (Feb 19) as they perform Henry IV for our scholars! We hope the experience inspires scholars and staff to sign up for the Talent Show coming on March 28. Contact Mr Tsosie for more information.


Jr High Wrestling Practice for tomorrow (Feb 19) is cancelled. Also, BBB has a State Play-In game at WHS (versus MV) on Saturday, February 22, at 1 pm. UHSAA will provide ticketing information soon.

Parent Partcipants at the Parent Climate Conference made two recommendations for the school community after observing scholars and staff on February 12. #1 is to increase parent engagement (more details are coming soon). #2 is for all staff to fully enforce the Classroom Entering Procedures which require all distrations to be off and stored.. This second recommendation has the potential to greatly boost learning so we respectfully request families to support this work starting Tuesday, February 18.


Parent participants at the Parent Climate Conference highlighted some celebrations, to include staff collaboration , expert use of ViewSonic Boards, teachers frequently call on scholars to contribute to discussion and/or answer questions, engagement efforts, individual scholar praise, and teacher enthusiasm! Next week (Feb 7-14) is Many Types of Love Spirit Week by UNITY. We hope scholars will get involved to make hallway decorations (Monday), wear cupid colors (Tuesday), make Valentine's cards (Wednesday), match an outfit with a friend (Thursday), and get a candy gram (Friday)! All activities will be in the Scholar Commons at Lunch.


Culture Night is on Tuesday, February 11, at 5 pm. Join us for learning about our Dine Language and Culture! Student Council is inviting all high school scholars to the Sweet Heart Formal on Thursday, February 13, from 8-11:30 pm. Tickets are $5 for singles; $8 for doubles. (There is a home Jr High BBB game vs ARL on Thursday, February 6, at 5 pm.)

Reminder: Midterm and Gradebook Closure is Friday, January 31. It is best for all assignments to be submitted by noon on Thursday, January 30. Parents/Guardians/Scholars have a great opportunity to meet with their Advisor and teachers on Tuesday, February 4, from 1-5:30 pm in the Gym. This is for CCR Day and there are many table presenters, along with workshops and dinner!

On Tuesday, February 4, scholars will get an immersive experience into the health careers and participate in various presentations. We will also complete course requests for the 2025-2026 school year. Buses depart campus at noon. Starting at 1 pm, in the Gym, scholars with their families and community members will get to visit with the scholar's Advisor, discuss Midterm grades with teachers, and explore various table presenters. (The Jr High BBB has a home game vs MV today - Jan 28 - at 5 pm with concessions by the Senior Class.)


Midterm & Gradebook Closure is Friday, January 31. We suggest all assignments be submitted no later than noon on Thursday, January 30. (Current grades were mailed to the Post Office on Friday, January 24, along with teacher emails so parents/guardians can reach out with questions.) The Home Game vs Red Mesa today (Jan 27) is Senior Night and the first game begins at 2:30 pm.
